Why custom built?

(01)

Fit

Standard Software

Your processes must adapt to the software

Custom Development

The software adapts to your processes

(02)

Control

Standard Software

Vendor lock-in, limited customization

Custom Development

Full control over code and data

(03)

AI Integration

Standard Software

AI as expensive add-on, often poorly integrated

Custom Development

AI natively integrated at the core

(→)

When standard software or SaaS is the right choice

Off-the-shelf tools are the pragmatic pick when your process is genuinely standard, you need it live now, and budget is tight. Custom development wins once the software becomes your competitive edge — unique workflows, proprietary data, or AI features no vendor ships.

Proof · Client case

Your clients ask AI first. Do they find your answer there?

We show how it works with a real project: Datura from Berlin, told in five chapters.

Expertise that hardly anyone found online.

Berlin-based Datura advises banks, asset managers and pension funds on nature and climate risk. The knowledge was there – the website just didn’t tell Google or ChatGPT.

Banks, asset managers, supervisors
Before: what people saw

Before: what the AI read
  • No page answers the questions banks ask.
  • No description for Google – on 9 of 10 pages.
  • No file for AI assistants (llms.txt: missing).

One answer for every question.

Banks now research with AI assistants. So the website should answer exactly the questions they ask there – clearly, in the first sentence, with a source.

The goal

When a bank asks for nature risk data, the answer should be “Datura” – on Google and in ChatGPT.

A question banks ask ChatGPT
„Who provides nature risk data for banks and investors?“
One of ten questions we built a dedicated answer page for.

Four steps, nothing made up.

We reorganised Datura’s expertise and backed every statement. Where content was missing, Datura supplied it – we added nothing of our own.

  1. (01)

    Listen

Reviewed the website and collected their clients’ questions with Datura.

  2. (02)

    Build answers

One page per question that answers straight away – plus glossary and methodology.

  3. (03)

    Check facts

Every figure matched against its original source before going online.

  4. (04)

    Hand over

Prepared so AI assistants can read it – and Datura can maintain it themselves.

During the fact check

Two swapped sources, one wrong year. Caught before going online.

A website for people and for AI.

The same content now works twice: as a readable page and as a clear answer an AI assistant can take over and cite.

Who provides nature risk data for banks and investors?

Datura is a nature and climate risk analytics provider and implementation partner for financial institutions — a consulting company with a data backbone.

What we measure after go-live.

We don’t promise results, we measure them. Once the site is live, we check regularly whether Datura is named where banks ask.

Our measurement plan
  • Do ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers name Datura for the ten questions?
  • Do the answer pages appear on Google for exactly those questions?
  • Do new enquiries from banks and investors come in this way?

Context Studios is an AI-native development studio from Berlin-Charlottenburg, founded in 2025 by Michael Kerkhoff. The studio ships AI agents, MCP servers, and enterprise software.

(01)How long does it take to build an MVP?
The goal of our MVP Sprint is a first working product in about four weeks. For more complex projects, timelines vary with scope, but we always provide clear estimates upfront. As a rough guide: a simple landing page usually takes about a week, a full SaaS platform more like 8–12 weeks.
(02)How do we get started?
Book a free 30-minute discovery call using the link below. We'll discuss your project, answer questions, and determine if we're a good fit. No pressure, no commitment required. If we move forward, you'll receive a detailed proposal within 48 hours.
(03)How do you set your prices?
We price projects as a fixed price after scoping, with a proposal within 48 hours. That way you pay for exactly the scope your project needs instead of a package that doesn’t fit. Only our three workshop formats have fixed list prices.
(04)Who owns the code and IP?
Once paid in full, you receive the exclusive, unrestricted and transferable right to use the code written specifically for your project and all deliverables (terms, clause 5). You're free to modify, extend or have other developers continue the work. General tools and building blocks we use independently of your project remain ours; you receive a simple right to use them as far as needed for the deliverables.
(05)What technologies do you use?
We use modern, production-ready technologies: Next.js 16, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Convex/Supabase for databases, Clerk for authentication, and the latest AI models (GPT, Claude, Gemini). We choose the best tools for your specific needs and always prioritize maintainability and scalability.
(06)What does AI-native development mean?
AI-native means we don’t just add AI as a feature—we integrate it into the architecture from the start. We use current models (Gemini, GPT, Claude) and develop considerably faster with AI assistance ourselves – a target we measure together in the project: up to 5–10× faster than traditional development. The result: future-proof products that put AI to good use.
(07)What's included in post-launch support?
We fix bugs you report within 30 days of final delivery at no cost, as set out in our terms (clause 7.4). After that, we offer ongoing maintenance packages at the agreed monthly price for continued development and support. The scope is set out in the contract.
(08)What commitments do you make?
Only ones we can reliably keep: bugs you report within 30 days of final delivery are fixed at no cost. Scope, dates and acceptance criteria are set in the proposal before the project starts; the agreed fixed price covers exactly that scope.
(09)Who will work on my project?
Your project is led by our founder, an AI context engineer with strong sales and project management expertise. For larger projects, we bring in specialized contractors (designers, mobile developers) as needed. You'll have a single point of contact throughout the project—no getting passed around between team members.
